Desk organizer: Massive fun
“Creativity is piercing the mundane to find the marvelous,” according to the American journalist Bill Moyers. Experimenting with concrete, a widely used material in construction, Seoul-based designer JinSik Kim, a graduate of Luxury & Craftsmanship Design Studies at ECAL in Lausanne, has created a colorful series of desk accessories, Concrete Age, by playing with its shape, texture and weight. As the concrete hardens, the designer uses hands to engrave the sharp shape with the texture of pine wood, and the round shape with the texture of ash wood. Its weight allows it to be arranged playfully into a pencil case, a photo holder, or a paper weight.
