I'm a ceramic sculptor captivated by organic forms, rebelling against the constraints of my industrial and architectural design background, where pragmatism dominated. Embracing the liberating realm of improvisation, I let my hands guide the creative process, starting with a subject matter in mind and processing my thoughts through the act of creation.
My work becomes an intimate exploration of personal narratives, delving into the complexities of relationships—with myself, my partner, and those around me. The recurring motif of the bell-shaped listening ear/speaking mouth symbolizes the delicate interplay between being heard and embracing vulnerability. Arches and free-floating components are also repeated and explore support versus independence. I draw visual inspiration from my native Florida's coral reefs and the profound arch canyons of Utah—where my transformative decision to shift from designer to artist took root—seamlessly weaving personal evolution and natural beauty into a tactile and emotive tapestry.
