Resonance of Raw Vase 10
USD$598.57
Description
The resonance of raw vases came about through an experiment-based design research, in which the properties of braided structures are studied and transferred to other analogous processes. Coupled with glass, a seemingly opposing raw material, the findings on the characteristics of different wickerwork led to a collection of tactile glass objects, made in woven moulds that stood up to the heat of the glassmaking process. The natural abrasion of the raw material became the means of design for the pieces, whose texture allow to understand the origin of its creation. The first collection combines three different sizes of vases, marked as large, medium and small. As all mould were handwoven by the designer Thalea Schmalenberg and mouth-blown by glass-blower Maestro Peter Kuchinke they differ uniquely in height, shape and thickness. A selection of vases of the first series created during the design research are exclusively offered to vespoe for distribution.
