Marea Azul - handwoven room divider / wallhanging in linen.

This listing is for one handwoven room divider / wallhanging made by me at my studio in Copenhagen. The technique used for making this room divider / wallhanging is the old japanese ikat. Here I have wounded a plastic thread around the white threads in specific areas and dyed with indigo. After the dyeing process a beautiful pattern appears in a combination of indigo blue and white. When weaving I have used a NAMI reed from Japan. This gives a wavy line in the vertical direction of the textile. It's woven in a beautiful crispy linen yarn from Lithuania. The weaving is a combination of plain weave together with small overshots. This gives the textiles a little stucture on the surface. In the ends I have attached an Ikea KVARTAL. This makes it easy to hang up in the room, either in the ceiling or directly on the wall. I have three room dividers / wallhangings. Please see the last photo.
